{"id":1021,"date":"2025-06-10T06:44:34","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T06:44:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newcreationcity.org\/?p=1021"},"modified":"2025-06-10T06:44:35","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T06:44:35","slug":"a-heart-of-flesh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newcreationcity.org\/?p=1021","title":{"rendered":"A Heart of Flesh"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discipleship Devotional, June 10th, 2025<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.<\/strong><br>\u2014 <em>Ezekiel 36:26 (KJV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the miracles of salvation is that the stony-hard heart is taken out of us and a heart of flesh is given unto us. This is the work of the Holy Spirit within the believer. It is this heart of flesh that makes us desire to please God. The stony heart rebels against God and has no desire to please God. This is why when we see a so-called believer who is comfortable walking in iniquity without remorse and repentance, we can very much doubt if they truly are believers. The Apostle James said we can prove our genuine faith by the good works we do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.<\/strong><br>\u2014 <em>James 2:18 (KJV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A hardened and unrepentant heart should be questioned if indeed they belong to a person who is saved, because those who are saved have a heart of flesh. This is the miracle that God has worked in them and continues to work in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.<\/strong><br>\u2014 <em>Ezekiel 36:27 (KJV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the next verse after our anchor text, we see that God said He will put His Spirit within us and cause us to obey Him. One compulsory fruit of a believer is the desire to obey God. Even when we fall short, it is still our desire to. However, for those with a stony or hardened heart, the desire to please and obey God is not there. All they want to do is indulge the flesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This promise that God promised through Ezekiel was fulfilled in Christ. So now, as a believer, you should rejoice in this truth. God has given you a heart of flesh and has placed His Spirit within you. Now, you can obey and please Him, not by your power but by His own Spirit in you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prayer<\/strong><br>Thank You, Heavenly Father, for this miracle You have performed in me.
