Discipleship Devotional, June 27th, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen the Lord said to Moses, \u2018I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day.\u2019\u201d<\/strong>
\u2014 Exodus 16:4 (NIV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To maintain a vibrant spiritual life, we must approach God daily\u2014to fellowship with Him, to hear His voice, and to be nourished by His presence. Just as we cannot eat one enormous meal and expect it to sustain us for a month, we cannot rely on one long moment with God to carry us spiritually for weeks. That\u2019s not how spiritual growth works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God designed us to be continually dependent on Him, not occasionally dependent. He longs for us to return to Him every day, seeking fresh strength, fresh grace, and fresh encounters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This truth is beautifully illustrated in our anchor scripture. When God provided manna for the Israelites in the wilderness, it was only sufficient for one day. They were instructed to gather only what they needed for that day\u2014any attempt to store it up for the next day led to it spoiling (Exodus 16:19\u201320). This was a powerful lesson in daily dependence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same way, God\u2019s desire is that we seek Him daily. His Word says, \u201cHis mercies are new every morning\u201d<\/strong> (Lamentations 3:23<\/em>). Each day carries its own grace, its own supply of strength, and its own encounter with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, we cannot afford to rely on yesterday\u2019s prayers, yesterday\u2019s Bible study, or yesterday\u2019s spiritual experiences. To walk with God intimately, we must renew our fellowship with Him daily. This is not about religious routine; it\u2019s about relationship\u2014an ongoing pursuit of His presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The psalmist captures this hunger perfectly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cO God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is… Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.\u201d<\/strong>
\u2014 Psalm 63:1\u20133 (KJV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t run on yesterday\u2019s manna. Come to God daily. There\u2019s always more\u2014more of His presence, more of His wisdom, more of His strength, and more of His love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer:<\/strong>
Thank You, Lord, for the privilege of daily fellowship with You. Help me to always come to Your table, to seek You anew every day, and to be nourished by Your presence. I choose today to depend on You, my Daily Bread. Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
