As important as it is not to waste money and financial resources, the most crucial resource that we cannot afford to waste is time. Regardless of the amount of money lost, it can still be regained through diligence, but time is one of those resources that cannot be recovered once wasted. Our anchor text reminds us that there is a time for everything under the sun. No matter how we try to sugarcoat it, there are certain things that, if not done at the right time, can have long-lasting effects on our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Only through the miraculous hand of God\u2019s mercy can time be restored. We see this in His promise to the Israelites, where He pledged to restore the years that the locusts had eaten (Joel 2:25). This means that even when we have missed the opportune time for something, He, by His mercy, can restore the opportunity. However, the general admonition of Scripture is for us to make good use of our time. We are urged to walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, making the most of every opportunity (Ephesians 5:15-16).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today\u2019s message is to encourage you to make the most of every opportunity and in every area of your life. And particularly in critical life decisions, make the most of the time. This is the will of God for you. Therefore, we will adopt the psalm of Moses recorded by David in Psalm 90, and pray it for ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”
