Discipleship Devotional, April 29th, 2025<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;<\/strong>
\u2014 Ephesians 3:14\u201316 (KJV)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our anchor text, the Apostle Paul prays for the Ephesian church that they would be fortified with spiritual strength through the Holy Spirit. It is important to note that his supplication had nothing to do with physical or military prowess but rather with spiritual resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot of people are strong physically, financially, mentally, and even emotionally, yet they can lack spiritual strength. And the truth is that no measure of material affluence, physical endurance, or emotional stability can withstand the influence of a spiritual adversary. Hence, we must approach this prayer with utmost seriousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We acknowledge that the spiritual realm governs the physical and all other facets of existence. This is why weakness in the spirit can permeate into other areas, and strength in the spirit can contribute to the overall well-being of every aspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, knowing that we are spirit beings, not every thought should be considered ordinary, and not all occurrences are merely coincidental. Many occurrences are influenced by spiritual forces. Therefore, the cultivation of spiritual strength through consistent prayer is of paramount importance. We must pray like the Apostle Paul prayed, for the strengthening of our inner man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.<\/strong>
