{"id":974,"date":"2025-05-22T06:53:17","date_gmt":"2025-05-22T06:53:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newcreationcity.org\/?p=974"},"modified":"2025-05-22T06:53:17","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T06:53:17","slug":"the-flesh-offers-nothing-good","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newcreationcity.org\/?p=974","title":{"rendered":"The Flesh Offers Nothing Good"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <em>&#8220;It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing&#8230;&#8221;<\/em><br>\u2014 John 6:63 (KJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a phrase I often bring to mind whenever I\u2019m tempted to act out of impulse or carnal emotion: <em>\u201cThe flesh profiteth nothing.\u201d<\/em> It&#8217;s a sobering reminder that the flesh\u2014our fallen human nature\u2014has nothing good to offer us. Acting in the flesh never leads to godly outcomes. No wonder the Apostle Paul declared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing&#8230;&#8221;<\/em><br>\u2014 Romans 7:18 (KJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We must take this truth to heart. Like Paul, we need to live with the awareness that nothing good dwells in our flesh. Temptations may come, dressed in pleasure, pride, or personal justification\u2014but they will only produce ruin. Eve found the fruit appealing, but its sweetness led to separation and sorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the deception of the flesh: it promises what it cannot deliver. The Psalmist captured this beautifully when he said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;I say to the Lord, &#8216;You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.'&#8221;<\/em><br>\u2014 Psalm 16:2 (NIV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Make a conscious decision today\u2014and every day\u2014to walk in the Spirit. Yield to His prompting. Allow Him to guide your words, your reactions, your desires. The Spirit gives life, while the flesh leads only to sin and death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh&#8230;&#8221;<\/em><br>\u2014 Galatians 5:16\u201317 (KJV)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let this be your resolve: to be Spirit-led, Spirit-filled, and Spirit-sustained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Prayer:<\/strong><br>Holy Spirit, help me to remember daily that the flesh profits me nothing. Strengthen me to walk in You, to choose life, and to resist every temptation to act outside Your will.
