“And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”
– Ephesians 2:6 (AMPC)
When God raised Jesus from the dead, the Bible tells us that He set Him at His right hand, far above all principalities and powers, might, and every name in this world and in the world to come (Ephesians 1:19–22). In other words, He gave Him authority that far exceeds anyone else’s. So Jesus’ rank is far higher than any spiritual being in existence.
It is, therefore, mind-blowing when we see that Paul went on in his letter to add that we have also been raised together with Christ and made to sit with Him in the heavenly rank. This means that we are far above all principalities and powers.
This is why when Jesus resurrected and appeared to His disciples, He said:
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.’”
– Matthew 28:18–19 (NKJV)
We see that Jesus instructed them to “go” based on the fact that all authority had been given unto Him. This means that we have now been empowered to go in His name and in His authority.
I encourage you today never to be afraid of the devil. Christ is seated far above at the right hand of majesty, and we are seated with Him.
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
– Luke 10:19 (NKJV)
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for raising us up to sit with Christ in the heavenly places.
