God Is Faithful

Discipleship Devotional, June 12th, 2025

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Philippians 1:6 (KJV)

Though life’s situations at times may be upside down, we have firm foundation knowing that our God is always faithful. A lot of times, we panic because as humans, we are not all-knowing and may not know the outcome of situations. God, on the other hand, sees the end from the beginning and knows all the twists and turns on the way. It is therefore very important that we entrust our lives into His hand, and trust in His wisdom and direction.

The apostle Paul, in our anchor text, speaks with real confidence of his persuasion that God wouldn’t abandon us in the journey of life. The good work He has started in us, He is ever faithful to complete it. This is how marvelous our Heavenly Father is.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Hebrews 13:5–6 (KJV)

You must note that the presence of challenges is not an indication that God has left you. That you are walking through the valley of the shadow of death does not mean He has abandoned you. The psalmist still affirmed that “thou art with me” despite saying he walks through the shadow of death.

Has the Lord asked you to do anything or has He begun anything in your life? You don’t need to panic when you see challenges and setbacks. God wants us to trust Him every step of the way. He has not left you.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea…
The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Psalm 46:1, 2, 7 (KJV)

Prayer
Holy Spirit, open my eyes to see even more the goodness and faithfulness of our God.
