Unshakable Love

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 (KJV)

The most important revelation anyone can receive is the understanding of how deeply God loves them.

The Apostle Paul once asked a profound question: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” (Romans 8:35). He then confidently answered it: nothing in all creation—trouble, hardship, persecution, famine, danger, death—can separate us from the love of God. That’s a love worth pondering and embracing.

In fact, Paul thought so highly of this love that he encouraged believers to pray earnestly to understand its vastness—its length, breadth, depth, and height (Ephesians 3:14–19). Imagine that—a love so great that it requires prayer to even begin to grasp it!

The ultimate demonstration of God’s love was the gift of His Son, who willingly died for a rebellious, undeserving humanity:

“Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:7–8 (NIV)

Paul reminds us that even in human terms, it’s rare for someone to sacrifice their life for a good person. But God’s love surpasses human understanding—He died for us when we were still sinners, before we even knew we needed saving.

The cross is God’s official and ultimate proof of His love. Nothing could express it more clearly. We no longer have any reason to doubt His love—ever.

Our faith in God’s love must not depend on life’s circumstances. Whether we face good times or bad, whether life feels easy or difficult, His love remains constant. Situations may change, but the cross never does. His sacrifice for us is an unchanging, eternal testimony of love.

So today, let your confidence in God’s love rest securely in what Jesus accomplished on the cross. Nothing—not your failures, not your feelings, not your circumstances—can undo that love.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for demonstrating Your unchanging love for me through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. Help me to grow in the knowledge of Your love and to rest securely in it, no matter what I face. Amen.
